About this Roseau tour
First clue: It's everything you want in a GoBe guided tour, with twists and prizes. Armed with a map, water bottle, riddles, and your own camera or smart phone, you'll be searching for clues, observing every little thing, snapping pics as evidence, advancing your team's cause.
Second clue: With its French Quarter, Roseau Cathedral, Dominica Museum, Emerald Pool, and Botanical Gardens. Roseau oozes Old World charm. And this scavenger hunt is the best way to experience it.
Third clue: Do you think your team can take home the prize? The French claimed Dominica for themselves in 1735, but they had a bit more time than you. You and your team will only have 90 minutes. Are you up for the challenge? If not, don’t worry. Even losers get a free drink. But at GoBe there are no losers, only non-winners.
Thank the bananas
Dominica's tourism industry didn't really ripen until its banana market started crashing in the '80s. Back then, there weren't any decent roads to speak of. A conservation-minded public/private effort made the island's natural beauty accessible even in remote areas, including the 115-mile, island-long Waitukubuli Trail. But save that for your next trip.
Staying at a hotel or on a cruise ship, please meet the dispatcher outside the Visitor Information Center, opposite the Cruise Terminal. They will have a sign with your name on it. Docking at Woodridge Bay? Meet outside the Security Gate, on the right.
Your responses to the scavenger hunt will be in the form of photos that you take during the hunt. A digital camera or smart phone is mandatory to record your photos. Tour performed during a walking tour around the island's capital on highlighted streets as per the provided map.
There is approximately 0.5 mile of walking involved over various terrain including paved sidewalks with some steps at each view point. Due to the nature of this tour, it is not recommended for travelers with walkers or wheelchairs.
