Samana ATV Adventure
Samana, Dominican Republic
- ATV Quads: It's called an "All Terrain Vehicle" for a reason, and today, you'll put it to the test as you cross the rugged Samana terrain like a road warrior.
- A day at the beach: Once you've made some tracks across the peninsula, you'll find yourself at a delightfully secluded beach, one of those off-the-beaten-path spots where you're free to frolic without a crowd.
About this Samana tour
Want to feel like a kid again? Getting in the saddle of ATV will get you there, all while taking you through the ruggedly beautiful backroads of the Samana Peninsula. This is, after all, a bit like a paradise created exclusively for people who want to escape reality, an impossibly beautiful spot in which to channel your inner child.
Samana is replete with green mountains, white sand beaches, and startlingly blue seas, all compressed into a tiny sliver of land. Now picture yourself rolling across it on an All-Terrain Vehicle that you get to drive yourself. You'll kick up some dust as you navigate through the off roads of this lush wilderness. Your destination: a secluded beach reachable only by boat … or ATV. And once you've arrived, it's time to chill out on the sand, dive into the perfect water, and anticipate the thrill of your ride back.
There are only two things to do in Samana: explore the peninsula's natural wonders, and relax on its pristine beaches. Today, you get to do both, with an exhilarating twist.
Sometimes being friendly just doesn't pay off
Before Columbus arrived in the Dominican Republic in 1493, it was home to the Tainos – meaning "friendly people." They're the ones who gave the world sweet potatoes, peanuts, guava, pineapple, and tobacco. But the Spaniards weren't as friendly. They enslaved the Tainos and infected them with European diseases, wiping out almost the entire population within 30 years.
