The city of Gdynia is an explorer's dream come true. This port on Poland's Baltic coast was once an industrial stronghold. Today it’s known for its cultural scene (and home to Poland's most important film festival) as well as impressive modernist architecture, including the Museum of the City of Gdynia, which catalogues much of the region's rich history. Kościuszki Square and its fountain guides visitors to the waterfront where you'll find a WWII destroyer and a 1909 tall ship. Both are now museums and not to be missed. Then again, there's not much about Gdynia that you'd want to blink and miss!
