Guided Tour of the City of Campeche UNESCO World Heritage

      Campeche, Mexico
From (USD) $84 Per Adult (Minimum 2) / $65 Per Child
      Highlights
      • Colonial forts: Positioned on the outskirts of the city, these aged forts still stand guard as you walk along the area outside of the inner city walls. This is a rare opportunity to see some of the few remaining structures of this period and type.
      • Legends: Within these beautiful city walls, discover the different museums and traditional quarters.
      • Catedral de la Concepcion Inmaculada: This cathedral is in the heart of Campeche, and it features black marble floors. This baroque-styled church was commissioned in 1540, and has undergone several transformations throughout the years.
      About this Campeche tour

Formerly a walled city, visitors to Campeche can see the well-preserved ancient fortifications at this now UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Travel directly to Campeche, a historic ancient walled city that is located just off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy a guided tour of its forts, colonial houses, bastions and Museums, discovering its legends inside the walled city, with its different museums and traditional quarters.

Take pictures of the old city gates, wander the picturesque cobblestone streets, and marvel at the beautiful cathedrals within the city and its church. Visit two of its ancient forts, Fort San Miguel and Fort San Jose.

Explore its beautiful Independence Square, thought to date back to 1540. This lovely square is known to have had several changes over the year and decided upon the look it had in the early 19th century, with its central gazebo and trellis.

You cannot help but appreciate the beauty and magnificence of this colonial city. Mixed with the incredible local Campeche hospitality, not seen in other regional capitals, your time here will be remembered and treasured.

      A Pirate’s Paradise

The city of Campeche was fortified with walls in the past to keep pirates out during colonial times. If you walk around the beach, be sure to keep your eye out for shiny treasure – you never know what may have been left behind by the scurvy dogs.
