About this Cozumel tour
If you're new to Harleys, you've picked a great place to give one a try. They have a special dynamic – you're riding low to the ground, you've got great handling, and you're one with the road. And this stretch of road may be the most scenic on the whole 250-square-mile island. Pick your late-model Harley Davidson Street Glide, Ultra Classic, Road King, Softail, Fat Boy or Sportster and join us for an unforgettable ride around the island of Cozumel. We'll take a ride on the "Wild Side" - the east side of the island that many tourists never see.
The first thing that strikes you when you cruise out of bustling San Miguel, Cozumel's only city, is the freedom. There simply isn't much traffic once you hit the open road – and it's wonderfully underdeveloped. No telephone poles or power lines, few businesses, just the crash of waves against a rocky coastline that looks like a different planet compared to the calm waters and more populated beaches on the other side of the island.
Next is our favorite part - riding between the subtropical jungle and the surf of the Caribbean Ocean! At many points, you'll be just a few feet from the waves crashing up on the white sand beach. We'll pass by several colorful beach restaurants stopping at one of them where we believe you can taste the freshest homemade drinks on the island while looking at the beautiful landscape.
When you visit El Cedral, you can suck up the great smells of sizzling fajitas and taste the sweet blue agave that finds its way into your margarita. Three kinds of locally made tequila are on tap, and you get to see how they're made.
After passing by several colorful beaches we will enjoy an authentic Mexican lunch at Sky Reef where you can snorkel as is included on the tour and services available at Sky Reef professional massage on the beach and the chapel for weddings on the beach.
Finally, we'll head back to the meeting point to drop off the bikes and say our goodbyes. We'll also arrange to share any photos we've taken throughout the day by email or on Facebook for you to show off an unforgettable ride.
Hogging the limelight
Harley's first production motorcycle was built in 1903, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The original model was powered by a single-cylinder engine and used a tomato can as the carburetor. By 1920, with Harleys collecting a tidy haul of first place trophies at races far and wide, the winners made a habit of carrying a pig on their victory laps. And now you know why they call Harleys hogs.
