About this Cozumel Tour
A place that seems so perfect, it positively sparkles. Soak up adventure in exquisite Punta Sur, the southern point of Cozumel, floating in the shimmering Caribbean Sea. If you're on a quest for close encounters of the island kind, here is where you crave to be. Fabulous. Freewheeling. Bursting with exploratory fun. Hang on tight!
Whether you are driving or a passenger, jump into your fully all-terrain dune buggy and enjoy your exhilarating journey to Punta Sur Eco Beach Park, the largest ecological reserve in Cozumel. Bump and bound along the coastline, driving over scenic highways and one of the best off-road trails. Kick up dust, splash some mud and agua, and ogle wide-open ocean views.
Scale Faro de Celarain, the lighthouse that sits atop the promontory, on the island's highest point. Savor a beautiful reward...this destination's most amazing angle of both terrain and sea. Check out the former lighthouse keeper's home, now a navigation museum, and its five exhibit rooms depicting Mayan navigators, swashbuckling pirates, and how the beacon's stewards lived in the 1930s.
At Playa Uvas, an exclusive beach club, you'll plunge from white-sand beach into crystalline waters. Snorkel with abundant fish and rich marine life swirling all around you, in the second-largest barrier reef system on the planet. Truly, this park continues to reveal its many treasures, totaling one brilliant experience you do not want to miss.
The colossal, cold-blooded crocodiles of Cozumel
Another attraction you'll thrill to is the Colombia Lagoon. Its mangrove swamps and jungles shelter lush flora and teeming wildlife, like nesting turtles, exotic birds, colorful fish, and enormous crocodiles. Peep the reptiles in their natural habitat. They can hold their breath underwater up to two hours. When they do pop up, perhaps those toothy grins are thanks that the days of residents earning their livelihood by hunting them on that spot are long gone.
