About this Boston, Massachusetts tour
Homer's Odyssey lasted ten years. And you'll wish yours did as well from the first moment you board our vessel at Rowe's Wharf. Every detail of the Odyssey captures the vibe of a classic oceangoing liner, further amped up by a live musical performance. Just don't forget to pose for your commemorative photo snapped as you're greeted by the captain and crew because you know you'll want to post that pic for friends and followers.
Then it's time to begin your culinary journey with a tasting trio of seasonally inspired creations. Follow that with even more flavor sensations, such as maple and mustard glazed chicken, braised short ribs, crab and mussels gratin, romesco crusted salmon, cauliflower steak, and other entrees. Odyssey signature bread pudding, a duo of sorbet, mountain berry shortcake, and chocolate decadent cake make for a very sweet ending. Feeling social? Enjoy your meal in cabaret-style seating. For a more intimate dining experience, you can request a private table.
As you graze and cruise, a bevy of Boston landmarks become a feast for the eyes. The Odyssey departs the historic seaport on an eastward trip rounding several harbor isles - Peddocks Island, Gallops Island, Lovell's Island, and Deer Island, among others. On the return journey, you can salute the USS Constitution at her port in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Of course, the lure of high-energy music just may be enough to pull you away from the sites glittering beyond the ship's railings. Before the night is done, you simply must show off your epic dance moves.
Can the Lady in Black have this dance?
Poor Mrs. Andrew Lanier. On a stormy night in January 1862, she rowed across Boston Harbor in an attempt to spring her husband; a captured Confederate soldier, out of Fort Warren. In the botched escape effort, she accidentally shot and killed her beloved Andrew. She was subsequently captured and sentenced to death by hanging. To this day, she is said to materialize on George's Island in her flowing black execution robes.
