About This Ketchikan Tour
Mighty bald eagles fly here and now you can too. This zip-line adventure takes you high over the Herring Cove rainforest preserve, a lush wilderness ecosystem that's home to an amazing array of wildlife. You'll zoom above tall stands of spruce, hemlock, and cedar, thrilled to feel so wild and free.
As you fly through the canopy on this exciting adventure, each successive zip ride brings a new perspective and fresh challenges that are a rush for everyone, including first-time zip-liners and families. Admire the hushed, emerald beauty of the forest and catch eye-popping views of Bear Creek as it cascades towards the sea. You may spot the bears that gather here and eagles perched in trees, watching keenly.
All your senses are heightened after the last zip-line, yet the excitement goes on as you rappel down into base camp. Great job! Catch your breath, kick back with a well-earned snack, and celebrate your new zip-master skills with a medal. And be sure to check out your action photo (available for purchase) that shows you flying like a bird.
Now let your imagination fly with a visit to a totem carving center, where a native artisan transforms cedar logs into storytelling totem poles. And swing into the Raptor Center for an up-close view of birds of prey like hawks, owls, falcons, and eagles. After today, you know just what it's like to soar through their world.
Recreation meets conservation
The Herring Cove sanctuary area on this tour doesn't just thrill and entertain visitors. It also protects the region's wildlife and honors its traditions. In the totem carving center, you can watch a master carver create works that feature the area's wildlife and legends. At the Raptor Center, you'll see impressive birds that have been injured and can no longer fend for themselves in the wild. In all, it's a hard-fought victory for nature and culture.
