About this New York tour
Brooklyn is known for its pizza and its star power. Its many neighborhoods and iconic landmarks have been featured in countless Hollywood movies. On this intimate motorcoach tour, so popular it has been featured on the Today Show, Food Network, and Travel Channel . You'll be entertained by a lively guide who has the inside scoop on the most populous of New York City's five boroughs.
Your first stop is Grimaldi's Pizza, located in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge. This Neapolitan-style pizza is cooked in a coal-fired brick oven, resulting in a crisp yet chewy slice. Legend has it that Frank Sinatra had this pizza flown out to Vegas.
Then travel through Brooklyn's hottest neighborhoods. Watch the movie clips and see the filming locations films like Goodfellas, Annie Hall, Scent of a Woman, and The French Connection. Stop for pictures in Brooklyn Bridge Park and visit the legendary Coney Island boardwalk. When your hunger returns, it will be time to enjoy Sicilian-style pizza at the famous L & B Spumoni Gardens in Bensonhurst. Fuhgeddaboudit come hungry and leave happy.
Saturday Night Fever, the film that sparked the disco craze and made John Travolta a household name, also gave the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge a turn in the limelight. In one scene, Travolta's Tony Manero character brags to Stephanie, his dancing partner, "I know everything about that bridge." While most of his stats are on the money, his claim that a worker fell off the bridge during its construction and was buried in its cement is pure fiction.
