About this New York tour
You've been stampeding with morning commuters, spilled your $5 coffee, your olfactory sense violated by a cabbie, and it's only 10am. Luckily, you have lunch reservations on Bateaux New York, an inviting retreat from that hyper city buzz.
Reminiscent of the vessels that carried well-heeled sightseers along the waterways of Paris and London, Bateaux New York's all-glass walls allow you to experience Manhattan in a way that simply can't be replicated on that stress-inducing surface known as "land." You and the soon-to-be-relaxed mates, joining you, will be treated to essential comforts, including attentive service, fine wines, and the soothing sounds of a jazz pianist whose melodies beckon you to dance the afternoon and your cares away.
Sit back and savor a leisurely three-course meal comprised of creative selections prepared by our chef. Sample appetizers like the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad or Crab Chowder, and choose from a list of entree offerings including Crispy Zucchini Cakes, Miso Glazed Cod, and Moroccan Chicken. Be sure to leave room for the indulgent S'mores Bread Pudding or New York Style Cheesecake.
Adding to your overall rejuvenation is the afternoon's breathtaking backdrop, New York City. As you sail beneath such powerful symbols such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the Freedom Tower, and the Statue of Liberty, you can almost feel yourself being re-energized. By the time you arrive back at Chelsea Piers, one thing is certain: You'll be ready for whatever the streets of the Big Apple can dish out.
POWs, pirates, and fishermen
Best remembered as the portal for millions of immigrants, Ellis Island is a small but storied piece of land that, through the years, has also served as a POW camp, a bar for fishermen, and a place for executing pirates. The Island also housed a hospital complex that was once one of the most advanced in the world. As it was believed at the time that corners harbored disease, the buildings' hallways were actually rounded.
