About this Niagara Falls tour
There's only one way to truly see the mighty force of nature that is Horseshoe Falls, the biggest of the three Niagara Falls: cruising up in a sleek, sturdy ship to look the beast directly in its face.
Well, maybe two ways. After you ride a glass elevator 775 feet up to the top of the Skylon Tower to take in the falls from above and the miles of lush, panoramic scenery beyond, you’ll be hard pressed to say which view is more impressive.
Lucky for you, you'll get both experiences here on your GoBe Niagara Falls tour. And to help you really get acquainted with both the Horseshoe Falls and its smaller siblings on the American side, your guide will be there every step of the way to answer questions and provide fascinating facts about this awe-inspiring natural wonder.
Whether you're hundreds of feet above it or cruising right up to its splashing mists, here you'll gain an appreciation for Niagara Falls that's tough to comprehend without just doing it. So jump in, but not literally.
12,000 years, and only one day off
As history tells it, Niagara Falls has been flowing consistently except for one day, in March of 1848. On this day, locals curiously observed the eerie sight of what was once a massive sheet of flowing water reduced to just a trickle. God-fearing folks, believing it was the End of Days, immediately started praying. Fortunately for you and me, it wasn’t. After about 30 hours the ice blocks that formed a natural dam in the river finally broke loose, and all returned to normal.
