About this Philadelphia, Pennsylvania tour
Imagine relaxing on the largest outdoor patio deck in the city. Your drink is perfect. Philadelphia's famous skyscrapers drift past. Music fills the air. And a bountiful dinner buffet awaits your choices. Wow, that's the Spirit.
The guest star for the evening is the City of Brotherly Love, bathing a mosaic of architectural styles in soft twilight. If a city is defined by its architecture, Philly is ready for the future. Rising next to the Comcast Center, now the city's loftiest structure, is the bold new Comcast Innovation and Technology Center. It will be the tallest building in the U.S. outside Chicago and Manhattan.
As Philly's architecture dazzles, help yourself to the Grande Dinner Buffet. Choose from an array of fresh salads, select entrees that include Oven Roasted Salmon and Tilapia, Chicken Parmesan Meatballs, Beef Short Ribs, and more. And save room for the tempting selection of pastries, brownies, and fresh fruit. Of course, everything comes with a side of famous riverside sights.
After dinner, take your drink topside. The stars are coming out and your favorite tunes are spinning. Take a moment to toast the city where American democracy was born. Now it's time to rock til you dock.
A shot of Philly's past
Look for the tall brick "shot tower" just south of Penn's Landing. Originally, it made shot balls for muskets and, later, ammunition during the War of 1812 and the Civil War. Appropriately, a family named Sparks operated the tower for four generations, until 1903. Now Spark-free and managed by the city, it's surrounded by a public playground.
Please make your way to Penn's Landing, Spirit of Philadelphia 401 S. Columbus Blvd (where Columbus Blvd meets Lombard Circle), Philadelphia
