About this Adelaide Tour
Barossa itself may be the most complementary wine pairing ever. The region is made up of two parts: the Barossa Valley, producing big reds usually made from Shiraz or Grenache, and the cooler Eden Valley, known for its Rieslings. And if old vines make fine wines, this verdant landscape proves it. Let the sipping and storytelling begin…
"It takes great characters to make great wines," declare the vintners at TeAro Estate. Its wines are crafted by four generations of the Fromm family, who invite you to uncork the legacy of their family vineyard. More stories unfold at the famous mudbrick cellar door of Kellermeister. Hear how it began with the purchase of a century-old Shiraz vineyard as you admire glorious views and get a taste of their best, including the renowned Wild Witch Shiraz.
The founder of Wolf Blass is Wolfgang Franz Otto Blass, born in Germany in 1934. After he ran away from school, his parents insisted he get back to class or start a winemaking apprenticeship. He chose the latter and the rest is history (and a terrific story). At Pindarie, you'll be welcomed to their cellar door in an old grain room, restored with care and craftsmanship by current vintner Tony Brooks, on property once owned by his grandfather. Savor your wine here with a 360-degree view of Pindarie's vineyards.
Generations have nurtured the vines and crafted the luscious wines you'll sample in Barossa. A lush landscape. Passionate characters. Bold flavors. We line them up so you can sample them all. It's a tasting flight to please every connoisseur.
The doyenne of Down Under kitchens
Maggie Beer and her husband came to Barossa in 1970 to raise pheasants. They first opened a shop to sell their game birds, a humble beginning that soared into a hugely successful enterprise with a restaurant, a popular range of gourmet foods, cookbooks, and TV shows. You'll see, and taste, what Maggie's all about at her Farm Shop. Cooking from the heart, without formal chef’s training, she heated up a brilliant career.
