      About this Cairns Tour

A trip to Kuranda Rainforestation is like an adventure book you just can't put down. The story begins the minute you step onto the coach and travel the scenic route on your way to Rainforestation Nature Park. Prepare to have your mind blown as you hug the Macalister Mountain range and enjoy flowing waterfalls as a natural backdrop along your journey. This combination of beauty and adventure sets the scene for what's about to come.

The next few chapters have you coming face-to-face with snakes, koalas, cassowaries, and, of course, crocodiles, as you follow your guide over boardwalks and pathways deep within the rainforest.

Soon you'll find yourself throwing boomerangs with the natives as you participate in the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience. Word of advice: you may want to leave the spear throwing to the professionals. Once you've had your fill of dancing and didgeridoo playing, it's time to hop onboard the Army Duck for a rainforest tour of the surf and turf.

Now you're ready to depart Rainforestation and head to Kuranda Village where you can relax and visit shops, markets, and restaurants in this mountain retreat before you begin your final chapter.

The last part of the book allows time for reflection as you step into a historic train car aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway. Note the beauty of the restored, red leather seats and details of the wood trim, then turn your attention outward. Through the open-air windows you'll see a tropical wonder, framed by mountains, valleys, and waterfalls. Like any good book, the ending of this journey comes much too quickly as you pull up to Cairns Railway Station one-hour and forty-five minutes later. The end.

      Health effects of the didgeridoo

They say music can heal the soul. When it comes to the didgeridoo, it can heal a lot more. Because playing it requires deep, circular breathing, it circulates extra air through the lungs, providing physical benefits and the emotional benefits that come with releasing, rather than suppressing, emotions. Aboriginal elders even claim the 'didj' was played near the sick to help them heal. Who knew a piece of hollow bamboo could be so therapeutic?
