      About this Cairns Tour

Get ready to indulge all your senses as you embark on a journey that will have you experiencing all that Kuranda and the surrounding rainforests, parks, and sanctuaries have to offer.

From the moment you step onto the historic scenic railway open-air car for your two-hour ascension up the Macalister Mountains from Cairns to the Village of Kuranda, you'll be transported to another place and time. The carriages have been restored to their original condition with detailed woodwork and red leather seats.

Along the way, you'll smell the organic fragrance of the flowering plants and fruit trees and hear the sounds of the dense rainforest, as you witness the beauty of the mountains and waterfalls that surround you. There will be plenty of photo opportunities, including a stop at Barron Falls. Commentary along the way will give you a rich understanding of the history of the area.

Once you arrive at Kuranda Village, you'll be greeted by shops, restaurants, and a chance to do the very thing you've been waiting for: walk through the rainforest that has been flirtatiously calling out to you along the way. Your guide will identify native plants and wildlife as you make your way through the 100-acre Rainforestation Nature Park on land and water.

Last, but not least, your taste buds will thank you as you enjoy a delicious BBQ buffet. Visit our snack bar to sample the fresh tropical orchard ice creams and juices. At the end your long day, you and your sense will feel energized, inspired and very, very satisfied.

      Meet Australia's most eligible bachelor

There's a reason this 50-year-old male is still a bachelor. He has a penchant for killing any female who gets close. Jack is an Australian saltwater crocodile who has killed 12 female crocodiles since his capture 17 years ago. Because of his anger issues and behavior, he has been nicknamed Jack-the-Ripper-Crocodile and spends his days in solitary at the Rainforestation Nature Park. Perhaps he just hasn't met the right woman yet.
