Ultimate Reef and Rainforest Helicopter Tour

      Cairns, Australia
      From (USD) $541 Per Person
      • Luxury scenic helicopter flight: After taking off from the city-central Cairns heliport, you'll have ample time to see and photograph the reef and rainforest.
      • Two World Heritage areas: Be amazed by the incredible natural beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics of Queensland. Both in one tour!
      • Natural attractions: Enjoy unobstructed views of Green Island, Vlasoff Cay, Arlington Reef, Double Island, the Northern Beaches, Barron Gorge, and more.
      About this Cairns Tour

Lucky you. Not only have you landed in Australia's tropical paradise, you're in the only place on earth where two (yes, two!) World Heritage-listed sites sit side by side. These master works of nature have been eons in the making, and now you can experience their magic in one unforgettable hour. Your private helicopter is waiting, so let's take a spin.

Once you lift off from Cairns, your pilot will head out to the Great Barrier Reef, where you'll float over the mesmerizing Arlington Reef. Azure waters reveal shapes and patterns only Mother Nature could create. Keep your eyes on any movement as it could be a pod of dolphins or a loggerhead turtle. And be sure to take a peek at the exclusive resorts as you fly over Green Island and Double Island. Ah, to be a castaway here!

After gliding over a string of lovely beach communities called the Northern Beaches, you'll enter the mysterious realm of the Wet Tropics. As you hover above its verdant canopy, look for the Barron River, which cuts deeply through the Barron Gorge. During the wet season, the river falls dramatically (over 800 feet) in a cloud of mist before flowing into the coastal plain at Cairns. Quite a finale to your World Heritage symphony!

      Fancy a cuppa?

As the place "where the rainforest meets the reef," Tropical North Queensland is a mecca for nature enthusiasts. But did you know it's a haven for tea and coffee lovers, too? The Tablelands, a fertile plateau near Cairns, produces all of the ingredients for your morning mug (coffee, tea, milk, and sugar), and more. If you follow one of the region's food and wine trails, be sure to stop for a coffee or tea plantation tour. There's always time for a cuppa!
