Buzios Open Trolley Tour and Forno Beach
- Open-air trolley: This is the fun way to experience Buzios. The trolley's open sides let you take great pictures and enjoy the fresh sea air, while your guide entertains along the way.
- Forno Beach: Reddish-pink sand, clear blue water, and rocky coves perfect for secluded moments make this beach on the south coast a little piece of paradise.
- Ponta da Langoinha: This beautiful spot wasn't always so tranquil. The weird rock formations here were formed when South America split from Africa 500 billion years ago.
About this Buzios tour
If not for a legendary screen goddess craving anonymity, you might never have found this place.
In 1964, Brigitte Bardot arrived in Buzios with her Brazilian boyfriend. The bombshell known as "BB" was relentlessly hounded by the press at the time, and this sleepy fishing village still largely without electricity was the perfect celebrity hideout: spectacularly beautiful, splendidly isolated.
The star of And God Created Woman fell in love with what he created on Buzios, but made the mistake of saying so, and this little spit of land jutting into the South Atlantic became the hot new destination. Mick Jagger rolled in. Naomi Campbell was a model tourist, and Madonna made it even more in vogue. The secret was out.
But a funny thing happened to Bardot's unspoiled Buzios: It got electricity, but stayed unspoiled. Sure, there are fancy hotels and fine restaurants, and yes, the fishermen might have to steer around a yacht or two on the way to work. But you can still disappear from the world here. You can find a secluded cove with no footprints in the sand, and stand on the spot where one continent became two.
So if you see the bronze statue of Brigitte Bardot on the seaside promenade named after her, get a photo of the moment. And thank her for finding the perfect place not to be found.
Speaking of scenery
Brazil's beaches are famous for their natural beauty, but beauties wearing the infamous Brazilian string bikini doesn't hurt tourism either. Known as the tanga (and fio dental, Portuguese for dental floss), it doesn't leave much to the imagination. But those few square inches of fabric make all the difference to Brazilians; no matter how tall and tan and young and lovely a girl might be, going nude or even topless at the beach is considered unsophisticated.
On a cruise ship? Meet your driver on the pier, in front of the ship. Please look for the GoBe Representative holding our logo sign with your name. Staying at a hotel? Be sure to advise the GoTo Crew so we can meet you in the lobby.
There are no restroom stops due to this tour being predominantly panoramic.
Although there is minimum walking on this tour, there are 20 steps to get to the viewpoints and you must walk 200 yards from pier to the Trolley station.
