Chile's capital looks exactly like a stately capital and world-class city should. Strategically placed in a mountainous valley, it boasts polished colonial architecture, modern skyscrapers and dignified public parks and gardens. Indeed, this regal and elegant city is everything you'd expect for the cultural, financial and political capital, and home to nearly half of the country's population. It's easily one of the most exciting, explorable and friendly cities you might ever encounter and is renowned for having one of the most navigable and reliable subway and public transit systems in all of the Americas. Having said that, it's also pedestrian friendly, welcoming, dynamic and sometimes it seems that no one here sleeps. Then again. There's just too much going on and Santiago has just too much going for it to sleep.
