The Format Toolbar
The Format Toolbar, located beneath the Standard Toolbar, allows you to change the basic textual and graphical properties of a currently selected item. Using the buttons on this toolbar, you can also alter the color, fill, and text of various objects.
This toolbar is consistent across all environments. Some tools can also be opened as floating panels, providing easy access to commonly-used tools.

Styles drop-down list |
Sets the style for the currently selected object. You can create styles that define properties for a graphic items, cells in a spreadsheet, or text, or apply pre-defined styles.

Sets the font type.

Sets the size of the selected text.

Sets the color for the selected text. When selected, the tool expands and displays a color menu bar. The default color for new text is black.

Sets the format for selected text: bold, underline, and italic.

Sets the selected paragraph's layout to left, center, right, or justified alignment.

Sets the color for the line surrounding a graphic shape.

Sets the color and transparency for filling a graphic or a spreadsheet cell. When selected, the tool displays a pop-up menu bar for setting the color (solid, pattern, or gradient) and transparency. This button has no effect on text.

Sets the opacity or transparency of a selected frame or drawing object. When torn off, the tool pops up a slider bar from which you can select a transparency percentage from 0% (full transparency) to 100% (full opacity).

Sets the color, pattern, wight, and style of lines in a graphic. When selected, the tool displays a popup bar for selecting the color (solid, pattern, or gradient) as well as the transparency, line size, and line style. The default line color for new items is black. This button has no effect on text or spreadsheet cells.
