Headers & Footers
Headers and footers are special embedded text frames at the bottom and top of every page in a document, in which you can add the document title, author name, date, and other identifying characteristics you want to repeat on each page. If your document does not contain sections, the headers and footers appear exactly the same on each page in the document with the exception of page numbers.
NOTE: Frames cannot have headers or footers, only full-page documents can have them. All environments except Image Processing support headers and footers.
Viewing Headers and Footers
Select Header and Footer from the View menu.
You can place any text you want in a header or footer, including auto-updated fields such as page numbers. For information about placing a page number or other text field in a header or footer, see “Inserting Text, Graphics, and Special Characters”.
Hiding Headers and Footers
If headers and footers are currently displayed, you can hide them:
Select Header and Footer from the View menu.
