Floating Panels

Several tools on the Standard and Format toolbars can be displayed as floating panels. Each panel, which stays open until you close it, can be positioned on your desktop so that you can use the tool repeatedly. For example, you might want to display the Ink panel to enable yourself to quickly change the fill color of multiple areas of a large graphic, without having to constantly re-open the tool.

 

The following panels can be displayed:

• Attachments

• Font

• History

• Ink

• Shape Transparency

• Styles

• Views and Layers

• Zoom

 

Each panel is described in the topic in which the tool is described.

 

Displaying a Panel

 

You can display a panel in one of these ways:

 

• Select Panels from the View menu, then choose the desired panel.

• Select the appropriate button for the tool. For example, clicking on the Display Panel button in the Fill Ink tool opens the Ink panel.

 

Once a panel is open, you can move it to any desired location on your screen. To close the panel, click the x in the upper right-hand corner of the panel.
