Inserting Text, Graphics, and Special Characters
To insert text, simply position the mouse cursor at the desired insertion point and click the primary mouse button. You can then type the text you want to insert.
Integrating Images and Graphics
Graphics can be drawn anywhere in a text document, or copied and pasted from other documents. Images can also be placed anywhere in the text.
Graphics and images can be placed into a text document in two ways: as a floating item or as an in-line object. A floating image is placed into an invisible graphics layer above the text in a word processing document. This is the same graphics layer where all frames are placed. In-line images are pasted directly into the flow of the text.
In-line items are useful if you want the object or image to stay in the same position relative to the text. When inserted in-line, text inside the full-screen document wraps around the item's borders. A floating image, on the other hand, is not directly tied to the text flow. The floating image does not move with the text in the full-screen word processing document. The floating frame can be moved anywhere within the document, though, by selecting it and using the mouse. How text in the document wraps around the floating image is set by you.
Inserting an In-Line Graphic or Image
The best way to insert an in-line image or graphic is to copy it from another document or sheet, and then paste it into the document. In-line images and graphics are useful for fixing the location of the item in the flow of the text.
Copy or cut the image or graphic from another document or sheet. You might want to create a new sheet specifically for developing graphics and images.
Position the insertion point (blinking bar) where you want to place the new image or graphic.
Paste the item into the text.
Inserting a Floating Graphic or Image
Make sure the Drawing Toolbar is displayed.
Use the graphic tools tool to draw the new item you want to create. If you want to place a floating image into the document, draw a new graphics frame. Then load or paste the image into the graphics frame. For more information, see “Working with Word Processing Frames”.
To specify how the text wraps around the floating frame, select the frame.
Select the Text Wrap tool from the Standard toolbar. Choose how you want the text to wrap around the frame.
Page Numbers & Other Special Text
The gobeProductive suite includes convenient methods for inserting page numbers, the date, and time into your document. You can also insert separator lines and soft hyphens. Each of these features is available from the Insert menu. In many cases, you will want to insert these items into the Header or Footer.
Position the insertion point where you want to place the page number.
Select Insert Page # from the Insert menu. The current page number is inserted. If you insert the page number in a header or footer, the field is automatically updated for each page.
To remove a page number, select the field and delete it.
Position the insertion point where you want to place the date.
Select Insert Date from the Insert menu. The Date Format dialog box is displayed.
Select the display option for the date.
Check the Static box to maintain today’s date through document revisions. By default, each time the document is opened, the field is updated with the current date.
Click OK when finished. The date field is inserted in the text.
Position the insertion point in the document where you want to place the time.
Select Insert Time from the Insert menu. The Time Format dialog box is displayed.

Click OK when finished. The result of the formula, the formula, or the formula and result are inserted in the text depending on which display option you chose.
To edit the formula or how it is displayed, click on the field in the text, then make the desired changes in the Insert Formula dialog box.
To delete the formula or result, select the field and delete it.
A separator line is a single line which spans from the left margin to the right margin. It takes up one complete line of text. The line at the bottom of each page in this documentation is a separator line.
Position the insertion point where you want to place the separator line.
Select Insert Separator Line from the Insert menu. The line is inserted into the text.
A soft hyphen allows you to hyphenate a particular word when it would break across two lines. The default is no hyphenation: a word is moved to the next line or page if enough space does not exist to place the entire word on the current line.
To insert a soft hyphen:
Position the insertion point where you want to place the hyphen.
Select Insert Soft Hyphen from the Insert menu. The hyphen is inserted into the text. NOTE: the hyphen only appears when the word breaks across two lines.
