About This Nassau Tour
Want a little cheese with that wine? Graycliff's got plenty of both, and wow, are they wonderful. Bonus: we can't think of a better venue to delight in combinations of some of the finest wines the world produces with the best cheeses from the Old World and the New. Graycliff Restaurant boasts world-class status, within a mansion that has served global travelers for centuries.
Point being, GoBe proves it pays to have pals in delicious places. We preserve close ties here, so you can expect the family treatment and tons of first-rate tastings. Meet the Master Sommelier who leads your minimum eight-course exploration. Savor four reds and four whites, each matched with cheeses representing Italy, Spain, France, Australia, Argentina, and Chile.
Escorted by the expert, you will delve deep into Graycliff's renowned wine cellar which has been wisely compiled for decades and is worth millions. With over 250,000 bottles from more than 400 vintners in 15 countries, you're now coveting one of the planet's largest and most outstanding private collections. An array of the rarest, dustiest vintages resides here.
Since 1988, the house wine list has garnered Wine Spectator's Grand Award, the authority's highest accolade. Suffice it to say the hotel's unswerving enthusiasm for excellence shows within these walls. This journey even concludes with a vino-themed souvenir for all, so you can relive this grape escape upon your reluctant return home.
Let's toast three "huzzahs" to freedom!
In 1776, the newly minted Continental Navy and Continental Marines (predecessors of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps) seized Nassau. Graycliff became their headquarters and garrisons and bars went up on the windows. Montfort Browne, the Bahamian governor at the time, whined that rebel colonists imbibed most of his liquor stores during the occupation. Clearly keeping those bars installed so long ago on the now-wine cellar windows is still a smart, strategic move.
Please make your way to the Graycliff Restaurant, located within the Graycliff Hotel property: 8 thru 12 West Hill Street, Nassau.
