The kinds of things Cap Cana guides encourage you to take along on these tours are a good indication of the crazy fun you're going to have. Decisions, decisions: spend your day in a swim suit or a good pair of hiking shoes? Will you float, hike, sail or go zip-lining? You can learn all there is to know about caves by touring them explore all there is to marvel at on the nature trails by taking time to bend down and smell the wild orchids, cacti and bromeliads. Deciding on two adventures is the biggest responsibly you face today, poor baby.

If you're thinking about booking The Iguabonita Cave Adventure, it means you've got great taste.  This may be the Dominican Republic’s finest caving expedition. An enthralling two-hour guided tour takes you up El Farallon cliff and through the jungle, before moving on to the underground caves, filled with cool limestone and stalagmites that are dripping with prehistoric proof this place is perfectly preserved, a sanctuary from the hectic world outside.

The day's activities might find you hiking to the top of El Farallon or zip-lining past its craggy exterior. Both choices are an education on the botanic particulars of the Caribbean jungle and the animals that live there. You’ll hear about natural remedies, herbs, barks, and plants that are still used in homeopathic medicine. On the Hoyo Azul Eco Tour, you'll discover a hidden cenote, or sinkhole. This blue marvel, the Hoyo Azul, is like swimming in liquid topaz.

No matter what you choose, you'll not only see nature, but feel it. If you don't care to walk, opt for a horse or top buggy through the Dominican Republic's amazing eco systems. The top buggy can be added to your tour for a nominal per-person fee, as can a double-decker catamaran cruise, just in time for sunset.

Hike through an amber glow at Cap Cana

Something to think about when you're zipping, zooming or hiking through the Dominican Republic: it has one of the most extensive deposits of amber in the world. Millions of years ago, the forest you're traversing lost trees. They were carried by river systems to the coastal areas and, over a period of millions of years, refined into golden amber stones.
