Get ready for an exciting, adventure-filled day amid the tropical beauty of Puerto Limón, Costa Rica. Though some might say that Puerto Limón is more of a stopover point to other attractions, this GoBe tour will cater to your sights and senses in an unforgettable way!
Your trip will begin with a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center, a temporary and often permanent home for injured and orphaned wildlife. Here, you will encounter birds, reptiles, amphibians, and of course, jaguars, the most endangered animal in the Americas, and learn about how you can help with conservation.
After visiting the center, you will embark on a scenic drive, along the coast, and make a stop at a local fruit stand, where an on-site tour guide will let you savor delicious fruits, native to the region, and teach you all about Costa Rica’s famously delicious cocoa and coffee.
Speaking of fruit, did you know that Costa Rica is the world's second largest banana producer and that 80% of the plantations are in the Limón area? Your next stop will take you to a real-working banana plantation where you will witness firsthand the process of planting, harvest and packing.
The last leg of your journey will take you on a historic city tour of Puerto Limón including the exact landing spot of Christopher Columbus in 1502. Along the way, you can sneak in a little shopping for local-made crafts and souvenirs.
Puerto Limón is heavily influenced by Afro-Caribbean culture. Each year, the city holds “Carnaval del Caribe”, a 12-day carnival to celebrate the array of cultures along Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast and to commemorate Christopher Columbus’ historic arrival in 1502.
Non-refundable if canceled within 48 Hours of requested services.
