      About this Fredericia tour

Rising above the Little Belt Strait in steel splendor, large scale construction projects didn't even use welding when The Old Little Belt Bridge first parted the waves. All the riveting was done by hand. This design marvel innovated multiple old world notions about design. She spans the water in 1178 meters of engineering innovation.

The Old Little Belt Bridge tour ascends to the apex of the bridge. Once there, guides explain the history of the bridge and the area. The tour forbids cameras because of the steep 60 meter climb, which allows climbers to focus on their safety and the scenery instead of trying to capture as many photos as possible. It's a time to relish the present. The ascent might overwhelm even the fittest. All of the guides receive training to help climbers remain calm. Its best for those who are not afraid of heights.

The tour ends in the gift shop. The shop offers a wide selection of souvenirs and keepsakes. Even better, climbers get to keep their cat suits for free. The suit serves as a unique memento of their journey into the clouds over the Old Little Belt Bridge.

      History of the Bridge

The Old Little Belt Bridge earned the nickname "Bridge Builders Nightmare" fair and square. In 1932, workers sailed the caissons into the water. The clay below caused the pieces to sink too quickly and one of the caissons broke free, sailing away from the site. This mishap marked one of many such misadventures during construction.
