      From (USD) $533 Per Jet Ski
      Highlights
      • Guided jet ski tour: Shoot over azure waves as your guide leads you on a thrilling ride out of the beautiful harbor and around the craggy coast of southern Corsica.
      • Bonifacio and cliffs: See Old Town and its citadel standing tall over the sea, then glide past chalk-white limestone cliffs and enter the mysterious Dragon's Cave.

      About this Bonifacio tour

      You don't need a license for this thrilling jet ski tour andndash; just a quest for adventure, as your guide leads you to sights that bring this old fortress town and windswept coast to life.

      Bonifacio has a stunning location perched atop cliffs that plunge more than 225 feet to the sea. It looks like it could topple into the water at any moment. Yet it has hung tight, enduring turbulence both natural and manmade since about 828 A.D., when a fortress was built to protect the coast from pirates. As you scoot out of the harbor, look for the 187-step stairway that connects the town to the water. Legend holds that it was carved in just one night by invaders looking to capture the city in 1420.

      It took nature eons longer to carve the granite of the Lavezzi archipelago. As you check out these fantastically shaped islands, you may spy the cormorants and Corsican gulls that nest among its rocks. Though the islands appear barren, they're home to rare species of wildflowers that are mysteriously found only here and in faraway places like Australia and South Africa.

      Your GoBe guide shows you amazing caves in the limestone cliffs. You'll glide right into the grotte de s'dragulinu (cave of the little dragon), with an opening that's curiously shaped just like the map of Corsica. You'll see another cave that strikingly resembles Napoleon Bonaparte's famous hat. Coincidentally, Napoleon was born in Corsica and lived here until he was shipped off to military school. The Emperor returned only once, but said he'd always remember his island. After this trip, you'll know why.

      The powers of Corsican coral

      The reefs around Bonifacio produce a beautiful, deep-red coral that, according to Greek myth, is the result of the beheaded Medusa's blood running into the sea. In Corsica, red coral is believed to have special powers against the "evil eye" of envious people, and it was often given as a gift to newborns to hang on their cribs for protection. It's now a carefully protected species.andnbsp;
