Hop aboard a dinner cruise and sail along the Seine River. (Although you won't sail the entire Seine, which spans approximately 777 kilometers, or 483 miles, you’ll cover plenty of water and see lots of sites.) Through the boat’s glass windows, you'll see some of Paris's renowned landmarks, including Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre Museum. The cruise will also take you under some of the city's most famous bridges, like Pont Alexandre III, and alongside the Seine's only two natural islands, Cite and Saint-Louis.

After stepping off the boat, you'll be driven by bus to the Paris Lido Cabaret. Since it opened in 1946, Le Lido has played host to talent such as Elton John, Siegfried and Roy, Shirley MacLaine, Eartha Kitt, Edith Piaf, and Laurel and Hardy. On this tour, you'll be sipping champagne while you take in a burlesque show by the famed Bluebell Girls. You’ll marvel at their spectacular costumes, which feature thousands of dollars’ worth of rhinestones, feathers, decadent fabrics, and top-quality furs.

The world-famous Bluebell Girls began in 1932, but have been a Lido fixture since 1947, when their founder, Margaret Kelly Leibovici (aka "Miss Bluebell"), brought the show to the Paris venue. By the end of the 1950s, the troupe was internationally known, and the show expanded to Las Vegas, Africa, other countries in Europe, and eastern Asia. The Bluebell Girls are known to be beautiful and statuesque, with their average height being 5'11". And until her retirement in 1986, Leibovici handpicked each dancer for the show.

      Grace under pressure

Le Lido's Bluebell Girls may make their choreography look graceful and effortless, but looks can be deceiving, because these women are dancing around in costumes that weigh over 30 pounds. Their feather backpacks alone weigh in at just over 10 kg (22 pounds), and their headgear amounts to a little over 6 kg (13 pounds). Add in their sky-high heels, and you've got yourself an impressive workout.
