      Opera by Postage Stamp

      The Opera Garnier was featured on two postage stamps issued by the French Post Office. The first was issued in September 1998, for the centenary of the death of Charles Garnier. Claude Andreotto designed the 1998 stamp that featured the profile of a dance, a violin, and a red curtain, all elements that highlight the artistic activities of the Opera Garnier. The second stamp was issued in 2006. Martin Morck designed a stamp that represents the main façade of the extraordinary building.
