      About This Berlin Tour

Each and every one of Berlin’s landmarks tells a story and there is much to learn about the history of the architecture that enhances Germany’s capital. This private tour will leave you feeling enlightened about the Historical Center, where yesteryear is reflected at Museum Island. Five museums are located on this UNESCO World Heritage Site, including Bode Museum, Neues Museum and Pergamom Museum, which will expand in 2025.

Museum Island is a reflection of the past and present, as is Gendarmenmarket Square. Damage from the war led to the square being rebaptized and rebuilt. Marvel at the German Cathedral and Concert House, which are a walk away from Boulevard "Unter den Linden”. Picturesque, this tree-lined street leads to Berlin Cathedral, Neue Wache, Humboldt University and Brandenburg Gate.

Get an insight into the effect Nazi power had on Berlin at the Governmental Quarter. Hitler’s victims can be remembered at the Holocaust Memorial and Topography of Terror exhibition, before you learn about the fall of the Berlin Wall and visit the East-West crossing point at Check Point Charlie.

Potsdam Square and Victory Column are fine examples of architecture, as is Olympic Stadium, Charlottenburg Palace and the mansions in Grunewald Neighbourhood. A powerful moment can be experienced at the Track 17 Memorial Site and Soviet War Memorial Treptow, which is situated in the Former Jewish Quarter near Alexander Square and Karl-Marx-Avenue.

      Berlins Transformation.

It was in the 19th century that Berlin’s landscape really started to transform. The city’s assortment of architecture can be described as eclectic. Following the World War II bombings that obliterated much of the metropolis, reconstruction projects commenced citywide and to this day, Berlin is considered a "work in progress”. Classical styles from the tempestuous past can be noticed in Berlin’s contemporary architecture.
