      Munich, Germany
      From (USD) $819 Per Vehicle

      • Odeon Square: Development for this square took place in the 19th century. It features a memorial to the Bavarian army.
      • Hofbräuhaus: Designed with three floors, this brewery was originally built in 1589 and the Bavarian state government once claimed ownership of it.
      • University of Munich: This public research university is among one of the oldest in the country.
      • The "Führerbau": A stately structure that was completed in 1937, the name translates to "the Führer's building".

      About This Munich Tour

The site where a bloody gun battle unfolded, Odeon Square will be your first stop on this tour. A trail of dark history has been left on Odeonsplatz, where on November 9, 1923 the failed Munich beer hall putsch took place. A decade after four policemen and 16 Nazis were killed, Hitler rose to power and celebrated the event by organizing a march on the grounds.

After inspecting the commemorative plaque at Odeonsplatz, delve deeper into Adolf Hitler’s activities of the National Socialist movement by visiting the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl. Chosen as the location for his first speech, this beer hall was also the destination where the Nazi Party leader avoided an attempted assassination.

Drink beer and eat pretzels inside the famous Festival Room on the beer hall’s third floor, ahead of gaining an insight into the Resistance Movement "Weisse Rose" at University of Munich. Students from this acclaimed place of education joined forces to express active opposition against the Nazi regime.

Your final stop will be the Führerbau. Hitler made plans from his working room inside "the Führer's building" which exhibits Nazi architecture, much like the Nazi-Documentation Center. Constructed on the ruins of Das Braune Haus, the Nazi-Documentation Center features the “Fascination and Terror” exhibition.

The Significance of Munich during the Heart of Nazism

Home of the Nazi movement, many Jews used to reside in Munich, before they were driven out in 1442. Although there were only approximately 127 Jews residing in Munich as of 1790, June 10th 1813 saw Jewish life take a drastic turn, for this was when the acquisition of estates and citizenship was granted. When Hitler proclaimed revolution in 1923, the aim was to use the city as a base for operations. As the home of the Nazi party and Drachau camp, many of Munich’s sites will forever have traces of evil running.
