La passeggiata: The "evening stroll" is a treasured tradition to Florentines, and happens to make the perfect introduction to the city and its landmarks. We begin in the piazza bordered by the 13th-century Santissima Annunziata (Basilica of the Most Holy Annunciation) and the Ospedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), a former orphanage that is one of Filippo Bunelleschi's early Renaissance masterpieces. The fountain and equestrian statue here date to the 17th century.
Via dei Servi: This shop- and cafe-lined avenue leads us to a walk around the Duomo, Brunelleschi's most famous work. Depending on start time and group preference, we may peek inside, adding extra perspective to our understanding of the cathedral, its Baptistery, and their significance in Florence history.
Your call: Moving south toward the Arno River, the group can chart the course – perhaps the Piazza Signoria, center of Renaissance Florence, or Piazza Repubblica, filled with fire-breathers, jugglers, and other nighttime performers. A gelato, coffee, or glass of wine is perfect for soaking up the ambience.
More than a guide: Even by GoBe standards, your tour leader is special. Known officially as "docents" (from the Latin for teacher), these M.A.- and Ph.D.-level experts give you a sense of the city, from art and history to fashion and food, setting the stage for your own explorations.
Your group, your tour: This private experience lets you tailor itinerary and overall pace to your group's preferences. The tour usually runs about two hours, but even that's flexible.

Meeting point

Please meet your guide in front of the hotel, Il Loggiato dei Serviti, in Piazza SS. Annunziata. Meet on the terrace, to the right of the doorway of the hotel, which is located at #3. If using public transportation, the closest stop is Ss. Annunziata.

As in many cities, keep your wallet or purse secured and leave the bling behind. In need of retail therapy after your tour? Your guide can advise you where to go in search of that "must have" souvenir to take home. Be sure to have some local currency and a backpack for all your great buys.

Getting around

Walks are held rain or shine with some variations to accommodate the weather. If you are running late for your meeting with our guide, we ask that you call to alert us so that we can relay the message to the guide.

Full refunds issued for cancellations made 7 full days prior to the date and time of requested services. Cancellations made within the 7-day and 72-hour window will receive a 50% refund of purchase total. Purchases are non-refundable inside of 72 hours.
