Why settle for one incredible art museum when you can see two? Join this enthralling GoBe tour for a journey into the cultural treasure houses of Florence. Begin your exposure to the wonders of the Italian Renaissance at the Accademia Gallery, home of Michelangelo's magnificent statue David. Your knowledgeable tour guide will expose the stories of the great artist's stone creations, taking you inside the mind of the man known by contemporaries as Il Divino, "the divine one."

Step out onto the venerable streets of Florence for lunch on your own and then rejoin your guide for a walking tour of the city's major outdoor sites, including the Ponte Vecchio, for centuries the only bridge across the Arno River. Travel through Florence's history as you pass through the Uffizi courtyard and then emerge from the narrow old streets into the stunning Cathedral Square. The great dome of the cathedral towering above you is a masterpiece of Renaissance architectural engineering, and the "Gates of Paradise" on the adjacent Baptistery are among the finest doors in the world.

Your tour concludes in the Uffizi Gallery, a museum encompassing the art of masters like Cimabue, Giotto, Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci. View works of art you've heard about all your life up close as your guide explains the history and impact of the museum's greatest treasures. Then take as long as you like in the gallery to fully immerse yourself in the beauty that can only be found in Florence.

      Corpse groom

The Ponte Vecchio has doubtless seen many shady doings over the centuries. One of the most shocking events to occur on the ancient bridge was the very public murder of young Buondelmonte de' Buondelmonti, who had offended the rival Arrighi family, in 1216. As penance for his offense, Buondelmonte agreed to marry a homely Arrighi relative, but backed out and threw her over for another woman. This was the last straw. Buondelmonte's enemies waited until the day of his wedding and attacked on the Ponte Vecchio, killing the young man and sending a message on behalf of sensitive families and spurned lovers everywhere.
