Ferrari Museum On Your Own – from Cruise Port
- Ferrari Museum: Get an inside look at the birth of the original race cars and their evolution into one the world's most sought-after luxury performance vehicles.
- Collections and exhibits: See rare classics and special experimental cars, a display of Formula 1 technology and engines, historic videos and stills recounting the Ferrari story, a formidable trophy collection, even a wind tunnel.
- Enzo's office: Faithfully preserved behind plexi, see the very desk and worn leather chair from which the "Magician of Maranello" first conducted his magic in the 60's– and conquered the racing world.
- Optional activities at additional costs: Test your skills handling a super-realistic F1 simulator (semi-pro level for adults, junior-level for kids), or visit the company's private 1.84-mile Fiorano Circuit track, where every Ferrari road and race car is test-driven.
About This Ravenna Tour
It's about 100 scenic minutes from when you board your transport at Ravenna's cruise port to when you hop off in Maranello, and find yourself in pure Ferrari heaven.
The museum on your itinerary is just a few hundred yards from the plant where every new Ferrari is lovingly built. And chances are good you'll travel out there for something more than killing a few hours before dinner.
Chances are, instead, you're driven by a passion for speed, precision, and beauty. A need to seek out what is, to those qualities, a holy place. And a desire to pay your respects to il Grande Vecchio: Enzo Ferrari, the Great Old Man who made great things happen here.
And likely to see what it feels like behind the wheel of a red, half-million-dollar automobile, immersed in the high-octane mystique that no other car brand carries.
That's not to say that you have to be a gearhead, or a wannabe Ferrari owner to capture the awe of this place – just as you don't need a fine arts degree to appreciate the Louvre.
The machines at il Museo (and there are lots of them, spanning decades of Ferrari history) aren't just examples of ferocious horsepower, torque, and acceleration. They're about the quest for perfection – in design, in engineering, in vision. And about having a dream that you can do something better than anyone else.
Enzo had it, and did it. And in ways that matter, the world was changed as a result. That's the power of following your dreams– something that those who journey here to worship at the altar of the prancing horse understand well.
Perhaps before they arrive. But certainly after.
Now that's true horsepower
The first Ferrari-badged car rolled out of the Maranello factory in '47, but Enzo Ferrari's signature cavallino rampante (prancing horse) emblem was already a fixture in auto racing by then. Use of the horse symbol was granted to Enzo personally in 1923 by the mother of revered WWI flying ace Francesco Baracca, who'd had the design painted on his fighter's fuselage. Sadly, he went down just five months before war's end. But his stallion lives on.
