      • Santa Cecilia Church: See this church built over the house of a woman, St. Cecilia, who was martyred there in the 3rd century. In 1599, her body was found incorrupt, still showing axe cuts in her neck.
      • Portico d'Ottavia: Walk along this passageway, once part of the procession that triumphant emperors used to take their armies into the city to celebrate victories. Longer than a football field, it's believed to have been made entirely of marble.
      • Piazza Mattei: Visit this small but picturesque piazza named after the family that owned all the palazzos around it. The jewel of the plaza is the Turtle Fountain, built in the late 1500s.
      • Ponte Rotto: See Rome's famous "broken bridge." Only three arches remain of the once beautiful bridge built in 1575, which broke and fell in 1598 after a flood.
      • Great synagogue: If it's possible during your tour, you'll be able to visit one of the most spectacular synagogues anywhere. The synagogue has one of the most unique Jewish museums in the world.
      • Expert guide: Enjoy an informative and enlightening conversation with your guide, an art historian or religious historian, as you inspect the ruins and sights of Rome's Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere neighborhood.
      • Small group = more personal: Share your experience with only the people you know; enjoy the luxury of deeper interaction with your guide and a more flexible itinerary.

      Meeting point

Please meet your guide outside the bar "Il Gelato", located at #14 Largo Arenula, just off of Largo di Torre Argentina (the sunken archaeological site at the intersection of Corso Vittorio & Via Arenula). Please refer to your confirmation voucher for more info about the meeting location.

      Helpful hints

Entrance fees are not included and can be paid directly on the day. Ticket to synagogue approx 11 euro, and fee to see Cavallini frescoes approximately 2.5 euro.
