About this Venice tour
“Serenissima,” “City of Masks,” “City of Bridges,” “The Floating City,” and “City of Canals” are just a few of the nicknames bestowed upon Venice. Discover why the city casts a spell on everyone who visits! The northern Italian city boasts many canals and bridges, and on this tour, you will travel along both.
You will experience one of the top ways to explore Venice on the water: on a gondola ride. Fall in love with Venice as you take in some of the best sights from your gondola. Take in the enchanting views as your experienced gondolier navigates down some of the most intricate waterways around the city, including the Grand Canal. Your 30-minute gondola ride does not include narration, so prepare to get comfortable and enjoy the old-fashioned method of travel.
The next portion of your tour takes you on terra firma. See some of the top attractions and landmarks around Venice during a 90-minute walking tour. Your expert guide will lead you around to some of the most historic structures and iconic locations such Saint Mark’s Basilica and Rialto Bridge. You will stroll down Piazza San Marco, Venice’s most famous square. Experience the breathtaking sight of the Teatro La Fenice and meander across the Bridge of Sighs before your tour comes to an end.
Please make your way to the Calle Larga Ascensione, between Correr Museum entrance and St. Mark’s Post office (1241, 30124 San Marco, Venezia) where our representatives await. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your tour departure time.
The gondola ride portion of this tour cannot operate in rainy weather, strong wind, or excessive high/low tide. The gondolier captaining the boat may cancel the trip for safety reasons with little or no notice. Gondolas carry 4-6 passengers and all seats are generally filled (4 seats if musicians are on board). Only two people can sit side by side. No narration or guiding is offered during the gondola ride.
For the walking portion of the tour, guiding in German is offered on Mondays and Fridays; Spanish on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. English and French are offered everyday.
There is moderate walking involved over cobblestone, uneven ground and steps. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.
