Scuola di San Rocco: A lavish palace with several ornate rooms featuring gilded frescoes and polished floors; every piece of art here is by Tintoretto, including the Flight into Egypt and The Assumption of Mary.
Basilica dei Frari: A towering brick church from the 14th century dedicated to Mary’s Assumption, this house of worship contains the famous Madonna of Ca’Pesaro by Titian plus pieces by Donatello and Bellini.
Guided experience: In a small group of six or fewer led by a Ph.D. or MA-level guide, you’ll have plenty of time to interact and ask questions to dig deeper into the magnificent works of art on display.

Meeting point

Please meet your guide in front of Caffe dei Frari, which is located at 2717 San Polo (Fondamenta dei Frari). The closest vaporetto stop is San Toma; which is serviced by lines 1 and 2.

Helpful hints

There are entrance fees you must pay at the door: Scuola di San Rocco (10 euro) and Chiesa dei Frari (3 euro).

Please note that if you are traveling between November and March, there is a chance you will experience Venice's famous acqua alta. You might prepare yourself by bringing along rubber boots or purchasing some upon arrival to Venice.

Getting around

Plan to walk for approximately 2 miles at a gentle pace. If your mobility is limited, this tour may be too challenging for you. This itinerary is not suitable for wheelchairs.
