      About This Istanbul Tour

Enjoy an exploration of both the European and Asian sides of Istanbul. Your first stop will be the Beylerbeyi Palace, which dates to the 19th century. This beautiful palace is one of the largest built in the Ottoman Empire.

Completed in 1865, the palace expresses opulence through its white marble exterior. This lavishness is matched by the interior that features porcelain vases, Bohemian crystal chandeliers and French clocks.

Explore this Ottoman monument and marvel at its grandeur. Keep your eyes and camera busy with the breathtaking view of the Bosphorus Strait. Just a short distance from the palace is the Bosphorus Bridge that connects Europe and Asia. Cross from Asia to Europe in only two minutes!

Upon its completion in 1973, the Bosphorus Bridge had the 4th longest suspension bridge span in the world, and the longest outside the United States. The Bosphorus Bridge remained the longest suspension bridge in Europe until the completion of the Humber Bridge in 1981.

From the Bosphorus Bridge, more attractions await you at the Camlica Hill located on the Asian side. This is Istanbul’s highest point and offers a scenic view of the city’s skyline. The spot provides a vantage point for viewing the beautiful Ottoman gardens. Pure bliss is what you will experience.

Make sure your camera has enough space for photos!

Beylerbeyi Palace: A Sultan Palace Turned Prison

The Beylerbeyi Palace is a mammoth beauty with one Turkish bath, six halls and 24 rooms. The monument was built as an Imperial Ottoman summer residence. While the palace was to be a royal summer house, one of the royal members, Sultan Abdülhamid II, was held prisoner here for six years until his death in 1918. You can still see some of the dining chairs that the sultan carved during his imprisonment.
