      Cozumel Mini-Submarine Adventure

      Cozumel, Mexico
      From (USD) $79 Per Person
      • Underwater scooter: James Bond rode something similar in Thunderball's underwater fight scene. You wear a bubble helmet and see all there is to see in an aquatic wonderland.
      • Sea life encounters: Your certified guide accompanies you to the seafloor, placing pufferfish, stingrays, and other marine life into the palm of your hand.
      • Hotel Cozumel and Resort: After your undersea journey, you may stick around for great food and drinks with beach views (at your own expense), swimming pools, and fun at the beach of one of Cozumel's top resorts.
      About this Cozumel tour

It's your license to thrill, and it doesn't even require any training.

Like 007 blockbuster Thunderball, you, too, will explore the depths using state-of-the-art technology. In the 21st century that technology is known as BOB: Breathing Observation Bubbles. You wear a helmet with crystal clear visibility, seated atop your very own under water scooter. If you like snorkeling and water sports, you'll love being a mini-submariner – you can stay down as long as you want, and really start to feel like part of this magnificent undersea world. Best of all, there are no super-villains out to spoil your day.

The adventure starts at the Hotel Cozumel and Resort. You can easily grab a bite at the poolside grill, and there are ocean views and plenty of thatched roof palapas to seek shade. It's the perfect scene for anyone going more than a few leagues under the sea.  Your one-on-one instruction on how to scoot around in your mini-sub could not take place in a nicer spot. So stick around when you’re done meeting the sea life, pull up a chair, and tell of your adventure over a frosty beverage.

How many leagues under the sea?

A nautical league is 6,080 yards, equal to three underwater miles. In Jules Verne's classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the protagonist, a sailor, is captured and held hostage while the submarine traverses the globe – but some critics say Verne's 20,000 leagues were more of a horizontal distance than actual depth. In real life, U.S. Navy submarines can only go as deep as 900 feet.
