This is a seasonal experience, running from October 1 to May 1.
Medano Beach, Arch Areas, Whale-Watching & Lunch
Los Cabos, Mexico
- Médan-o-rama: Though there’s no “best beach” in Los Cabos (they’re all just that spectacular!) Médano Beach is the central hub of activities. Sail past beautiful sandy beaches, hosting top restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shops, rentals, hotels, and water taxi access.
- Have a B.A.L.L.: And doubly so when this handy acronym stands for Lovers Beach, Arch, Land’s End, and Lions…Sea Lions, that is. Oh well, however wonky the acronym, these famous landmarks are a definite must for any legit Cabo tour list.
- Whale tails & Whale tales: Bring your waterproof camera for the chance of a lifetime. No guarantees, but our 95% success record suggests this is your #1 opportunity to capture on film the gargantuan Blue and Humpbacked Whales of the Sea of Cortez.
- Almuerza is served: Lunch is a lavish buffet of Beef BBQ, chicken kebabs, queso, nachos, Mexican rice, beans, guac, tortillas and fruit. Wash it all down with sodas or select from a huge range of drinks from our Open national bar. Now c’mon, you can’t beat that with a stick!
About This Los Cabos Tour
Too often, the workaday world calls so loudly that you nobly set aside your vacation and make do with your summer reading list. You know. The one you still have from the last time this happened. But when nobility loses its luster and you finally stand firm for the break you deserve, don’t be surprised to find that what you look for in an ideal vacation tour is not so different from what you want in an ideal book: early pages drawing you into a new and different world; middle pages, where you feel as though you’re part of that world yourself; and the perfect, exciting close that makes you wish it would never end.
Congratulations. From the vast “library” of Cabo San Lucas, you’ve grabbed the perfect book!
Sailing from Slip No. 4 at the Main Dock, your nautical coach on this tour will ply the waves first to sail past Médano Beach. A Cabo “safe swimming” area and top location to see and be seen, Médano Beach’s restaurants, nightclubs, watersports, rentals, and water taxis will draw you into their magical possibilities. Next, you’ll sail to Land’s End to view the natural formations for which Los Cabos is so well known. Step into the Cabo story as you tour Lovers Beach, Divorce Beach, and the powerfully photographic El Arco, punctuated by an almost equally beloved colony of sea lions.
With any luck, the Captain by now has a good lead on some blue and humpbacked whales to bring your exciting tour full-circle. Though sightings can’t be guaranteed, your Captain does have a winning 95% average across 10 years! He tries very hard and he stays out longer to increase the odds of success, because he knows that your delectable buffet lunch and open bar can be even better in full view of spy hopping, curious whales…just part of the reason why, when all’s said and done, you’ll find this a “book” you’ll wish would never have to end!
…And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt!
Souvenirs. Usually the last thing you think about when you plan a vacation, but the first thing you panic about when you’re there. In lieu of a tee at the airport, here are some great, authentic items that can all be found in Los Cabos. Like black pottery from San Bartolo Coyotepec. Hand-loomed and hand–dyed wall hangings from the Zapotec villages of weavers. Emperador double chocolate chip cookies or tin mirrors from Guanajuato. What about alebrijes, the brilliant, hand-painted wood carvings of animals (both real and imagined) that have prompted many a collector? Or embroidered linens from Oaxaca, hand-blown glassware (you can watch!) from the Glass Factory, even tasty tequila in a bottle shaped like El Arco. Especially popular is the gold and silver jewelry crafted in Taxco, but only buy these in a shop and look for the .925 mark for quality. The biggest tips? Buy after 4 p.m. when the cruise ships have left, and haggle over the price. Remember, there’s always mañana.
