Embark on a fun and informative tour on this half-day experience. Stroll through Anchorage and visit major sites sure to make for the best picture-perfect moments. Then, learn about major culture groups that once dominated Alaska as you tour through the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

This experience will begin in downtown Anchorage. You’ll visit the original Anchorage town site and stop by the Earthquake Park. At this site you’ll learn about the great earthquake that occurred in 1964 and you’ll even be able to see damage left behind by this natural occurrence! Before leaving downtown Anchorage, you’ll also visit the busiest seaplane base in the world.

Then, continue the tour to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Here, you’ll see a village of authentic and traditional structures from Alaska’s many native cultures. During your experience, you’ll have a chance to watch a native dance led by a local dance group, or athletes demonstrating World Eskimo-Indian Olympic Games skills. While on site, take some time to explore the exhibits displaying ancient artifacts used by former natives. If you’re not ready to leave by the end of the tour, you may choose to stay longer at the heritage center and use the free shuttle back to downtown Anchorage, or leave with your tour guide back to the starting point of the tour.
