Your Anchorage sightseeing tour begins at the heart of the city’s downtown area. From there, you will proceed to the Port of Alaska and Ship Creek. This is the historic area from which the city originated. Discover Anchorage’s rich legacy as one of the first tent cities in Alaska, its early pioneers, and how the city earned its name. This historic experience adds another layer to your sightseeing tour!

Next, you will travel to Earthquake Park, the site of a neighborhood that disappeared into the ocean in 1964 after a devastating quake. Your guide will discuss the dangers of living in an earthquake zone known as the Pacific Ocean’s “Ring of Fire.” Explore the places that were severely affected by the second-largest earthquake ever recorded worldwide and the most destructive in United States history.

Afterward, head to the Lake Hood Airport, a hub for seaplanes. It’s the top seaplane base in the world. If you’re lucky, you just might be able to such these flying marvels ascend or land with a splash!

For an unforgettable finale, your last tour stop is at the Chugach Mountains. This is an incredible experience with the best of Alaska’s natural beauty. Get breathtaking views of the city of Anchorage from this scenic overlook.
