About This Anchorage Tour
Looking to see the best of Alaska’s wild animals? On this exciting half-day tour, explore the area along Seward Highway’s Turnagain Arm. This area where the Chugach Mountains meets Cook Inlet is teeming with some of Alaska’s best scenery and animals. See where moose, Dall sheep, eagles, and mountain goats make their home. Your guide will help you spot these and more throughout your experience.
Your tour then continues to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center for quite an extraordinary experience! Tour the 200-acre refuge that houses bears, musk ox, elk herd, and other top Alaskan wildlife. You will see these creatures in their natural habitat; the facility located in the Portage Glacier Valley provides ample room for all the animals. You will even find the wood bison, a member of the bison family once believed to be extinct, at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
No doubt you will want to capture your experience in photos! With the backdrop of the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm behind you, your memories won’t soon be forgotten! This tour is available year round, although in the winter season, you will depart from downtown Anchorage at noon and return at 4 p.m. This guarantees that your experience makes the most of daylight.

Layered clothing is essential for your comfort. A moisture-wicking bottom layer and a waterproof/windproof outer layer is recommended and what's in between those layers is up to you.
You must be able to step into and out of the mini coach touring vehicle.
