The IMAX Theater adjacent to the New England Aquarium boasts the largest movie in the region. On this tour, marvel at some of nature’s best creatures and ecosystems that are brought to life before your eyes on a massive screen.

The theater is currently screening three films. For a revealing look at the expansive Amazon Rainforest, check out Amazon Adventure 3D. Based on the real-life experience of English explorer Henry Bates, you will travel back in time to follow a curious scientist in his quest to document the birth of a species. Your adventure takes you down the winding river while encountering exotic animals. It’s the best film for those who wish to learn about one of the fathers of evolutionary biology.

Explore the rich biodiversity of the Galapagos in Galapagos 3D: Nature’s Wonderland. Discover the tortoises, reptiles, and penguins that call the archipelago home. In this riveting film, experience the islands that gave scientists a better understanding of the planet. For a completely different adventure, watch Great White Shark 3D. Travel to the ocean’s depths for a look at one of nature’s most feared animals. Go beyond their predatory reputation and learn the important role sharks play in maintaining a healthy ocean balance.
