      About this Juneau, Alaska tour

Are you ready to meet 120 happy Huskies? They can't wait to see you and take you for an exhilarating ride through Sheep Creek Valley. These dogs are known for their playfulness, affectionate nature, and adventurous spirit – and they love a good trail run. We're pretty sure this GoBe tour will bring out those very same traits in you. Mush on!

This is the mushers' summer home too, and they're ready to take you on a fun and educational tour of camp life. You'll see a replica of an Iditarod race checkpoint and hear the steps professional mushers go through when they're actually running this arduous 1000-mile race with their team. Their dogs are some of the top athletes in the canine world, and you'll learn what it takes to care for them and keep them at their peak.

You'll actually feel the athletic power of these Huskies as they give you the trip of your life in a wheeled sled. This sled is a comfortable ride and an authentic way to train the camp's 300 dogs in months when there's no snow. You won't miss the snow. You've got mountains and wilderness all around you, and an excited, energetic team out in front of you. It doesn't get any better than this.

But wait, it just might. You're invited to meet and greet (and cuddle) the adorable Husky puppies. This tour unleashes all the fun: happy dogs at camp, puppy love, and you on vacation in one of the world's most beautiful places. No wonder everyone's smiling!

      Gold rush dogs

The dog camp on this tour is located on the old AJ Mine site, famous during the late 1800s gold rush – the era of the sled dog in Alaska. During the months of ice and snow, everything that moved – miners and trappers, supplies and mail – moved by sled dogs. Today's recreational mushing and famous Iditarod honor the proud Husky heritage. And today's mushers know the best stories from the gold rush days. Just ask them at the camp!
