As you travel through downtown Juneau, your driver-guide will share the colorful history of Juneau's gold rush era and point out buildings of interest. Alaska's capital city is always bustling with activities, even though it’s surrounded by rainforests, wilderness, and rugged terrain. Prepare to witness the raw beauty of Mother Nature, when you arrive at the Mendenhall Glacier, just a few miles from downtown Juneau. Go on a tour of the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center, where U.S. Forest Service staff members will share information on glaciers. Then, take time to experience this magnificent phenomenon from the best vantage point in the area.
