About this Kauai, Hawaii tour
If you are a TV or a movie buff, you cannot miss this tour. Hawaii has been a top set location for television and film because of its breathtaking scenery and comfortable climate. Almost 100 films have been shot in Hawaii, and we will have time to visit the locations for more than two dozen of them.
This six-hour tour is fully narrated, and takes place aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus. Each stop includes clips of some of the most notable films to provide context, and enhance your experience. Some of the stops include Wailua Falls, Hanamaulu Bay, Opaekaa Falls, and the Coco Palms.
A break for lunch is planned at the famous and rustic Tahiti Nui, where George Clooney’s award-winning movie, The Descendants, was filmed. This tour is literally jammed packed with famous movie locations around every corner and why wouldn’t it be? Hawaii’s ever changing landscape can provide an untouched deserted island like in Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides or the perfect obstacle course for contestants on The Amazing Race.
The Coco Palms Hotel was one of the most legendary resorts in Kauai, until it was destroyed by a hurricane in 1992. Before then, it had a starring role in Blue Hawaii, housed the cast of Gilligan's Island while the pilot was shot, and provided a little R&R for celebrities like Bing Crosby, the von Trapp Family Singers, and Jackie Kennedy.
