About This Ketchikan Tour
Should you be trolling, mooching, or jigging? Depends on the depth and what you're going after. Your tour guides are locals who've navigated every nautical mile of the waterways that snake through the islands off the Tongass Narrows. So rest assured: You'll be in the best hands of locals who know what fish are biting and where. Just as important, they'll share the top tricks and secrets over decades of catching the best salmon, halibut, cod, and rockfish.
You will be provided full fishermen attire from head to toe. This includes hats, gloves, socks, boots, and full rain gear! You will board the cabin cruiser and experience a smooth ride on the water. Depending on the area your guide wants to take you to, you will travel about 10 to 20 minutes from the marina.
After a couple hours out on the water, take a break for a gourmet boxed lunch that includes a salmon sandwich with garlic mayo and scallions, southwest cole slaw or chips, and a cranberry chocolate chip oatmeal cookie.
By day's end, you'll know all about trolling, jigging and mooching. You'll know the difference between a spoon and a hoochie. The best part is you'll have gained all this knowledge surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Alaska's southeast coastline, with 3,000-foot Deer Mountain towering majestically to the northeast. You also get to keep what you catch, or have it delivered home (additional charge). You’ll even find some top recipes included. Think of it as the Ketchikan-do approach to vacation memories.
