About This Ketchikan Tour
Halibut is one of the top fish in the ocean. There's an art to catching halibut, and success depends on the guide. Your tour guides are handpicked for their experience, fishing technique, and knowledge of the local waters. The guides know the local waters, the tides, the best way to rig your line, and the top halibut hangouts. So even if you're not an accomplished angler, you'll be just fine!
You'll be outfitted with everything you need, from full rain gear and wool socks, to the best rod and Penn reel. Everything you need for the day is provided, including hats, gloves, socks, boots, raingear, and all necessary fishing gear. The only thing you have to bring is money for your fishing license. (The state of Alaska requires you to purchase a one-day Alaska fishing license. The cost of a non-resident one-day fishing license is $20.00.)
You'll head out of our private marina on a 24-foot Raider Pro Fisherman cabin cruiser for a scenic ride to the fishing grounds. And since halibut require patience, you can go for rockfish and lingcod while you're waiting for the bigger fish to bite boys to bite.
Expect to experience about 4-5 hours at the halibut grounds. When the fresh sea air whets your appetite, you'll be ready with a snack box that includes smoked salmon dip, garlic crackers, fruit cup and a chocolate chip oatmeal craisin cookie.
Back at the private marina, your guide will hang your catch for some of the best photo opportunities. You can also arrange to have your catch flash-frozen and delivered home. If you're staying in Ketchikan, your guide can prepare a package for your evening meal.
Please make your way to Alaska Fish House at 3 Salmon Landing, Salmon Landing Market) or at your ship's gangway to meet your guide.
We will dress you from head to toe in full fishermen attire.This includes hats, gloves, socks, boots, and full rain gear!
Bring $20 Cash to purchase the required one day Alaska Fishing License.
We are happy to accommodate wheelchairs/scooters if travelers are able to be easily escorted in and out of our fishing vessels.

Tour Participation Requirements
This experience is rated moderate. Full participation may require extended periods of walking over even and uneven surfaces, steep terrain and/or water activity in a slight current. There may be steps, inclines, cobblestone surfaces, and extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitations should take this into account.

Access to our private marina is by a ramp that can be flat at our highest tide and quite steep at the lowest tide. There are hand rails and our friendly staff can assist if needed.
