      About This Skagway Tour

This is an Alaskan experience that can’t be beat! Your private guided Takshanuk Trail tour begins in Skagway, where you’ll board a catamaran. Travel on North America’s longest and deepest fjord, the Lynn Canal, to the town of Haines.

Upon your arrival in Haines, prepare for an unforgettable experience! Hop on the Kawasaki Mule, a vehicle equipped to handle the bumpiest terrain and can travel in places inaccessible to larger vehicles. Receive a safety briefing beforehand. Then, experience some of the best scenery as your ride takes you through the lush forest. The first mile of the trail has 17 switchbacks. Discover top sights along the Lynn Canal, Lutak Inlet, and Coast Mountain Range. Enjoy a brief stop at the mountain lodge for refreshments and restroom facilities.

After re-boarding your vehicle, your experience continues for another beautiful mile that takes you to the Tongass National Forest and shimmering waterfalls. Then, head to the scenic Alpine Lake, whose water comes from the many waterfalls of Mount Ripinsky. If they’re in season, savor delicious wild blueberries on your trail. Be sure not to miss the gorgeous sight of Chilkoot Lake and the Upper Lynn Canal at 1500 feet. You will then return to the rustic cabin for a halibut and barbeque chicken lunch. Your experience concludes when you return to the trailhead.
